This event will now be held at A Touch of Italy, on Chagrin Boulevard from 5-7 p.m. and will be an informal happy-hour to kick off the weekend. See everyone this weekend!! Even if you're not attending the Saturday events, you should definitely come hang out Friday night!

Our Turn: Giving Back to Shaker Schools

As SHHS graduates, I think we would all agree that the resources and experiences we were exposed to as Shaker students were a real privilege! Class of 2000 grads are living and working all over the world and doing amazing things--and it all started with our awesome schools.

As we near our 10-year reunion, we look forward to catching up with friends and partying--but also wanted to do something as a class to benefit current and future students in the Shaker Heights City School District. So we have established a fund to help students in the schools' music programs in the name of Tara Davis.

On January 2, 2007, Tara Mari Davis, passed away in a car accident while driving home to Pennsylvania. Tara attended Lomond Elementary, Woodbury, the Middle School, High School, and graduated with us in May 2000.

After Shaker, she got her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University and a graduate degree at Arizona State University in 2006. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

Tara left behind loving parents, a fiance, and siblings, including her sister Erica, who notified people through Facebook about her funeral. People came to her funeral from around the country to honor the life she lived. She will be remembered for her consistent and genuine smile as well as for her love of music.

We, fellow graduates of Shaker, would like to honor her by creating a fund for the music department in her memory.
Donations to this music fund can be made through the Shaker Schools Foundation to provide ongoing opportunities to Shaker’s students.

To donate, you can:

2. Bring a cash or check donation with you to any of our upcoming high school reunion events to be submitted.

After purchasing your ticket(s), be sure to print one copy of your PayPal receipt for your records and another to bring with you to the Saturday 11/27 reunion event. Your PayPal receipt will be your entrance ticket!

Reminder: Tickets on Sale! Tickets must Sell!

A note: although reunion plans are well underway we are relying on your help to fund it! To fund it, we MUST sell tickets. Planning class reunions is always tricky due to the lack of upfront funds/ reserve money that is necessary to secure a venue, caterer etc.

So we're asking, if you are planning on joining us next month and CAN purchase tickets within the next week or so, to please help out the planners and do so. This will enable us to make required monetary deposits with our awesome vendors.

10 Year Reunion Date + Contact Info Request

A few months ago we started up a group page on Facebook to bring our classmates into the loop on reunion planning. We opened up a poll to decide on a date for the reunion. With just over 100 responses, Thanksgiving weekend (Saturday, November 27th) was the most preferred date.

Through the poll, we were also able to collect contact info (email addresses) from many of you. For those who were not in on the poll and would like to submit their contact info for this year's reunion and future events, please send to: shhs200010@gmail.com.
